This weekend's program features Eric Tran in his third appearance at the Visitors’ Center. Perhaps our most popular performing artist, Eric is a San Francisco based composer/pianist with a friendly stage manner, dazzling artistry and electrifying skill. He is a graduate of Stanford University and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and winner of the concerto competitions at both schools. He was awarded the prestigious Robert M. Golden Medal for outstanding contributions to the arts and the Pacific Musical Society Composition Prize for 2014. He is a past overall winner of the U.S. Open Music Competition and is great friend of the Visitors’ Center. The program begin at 7pm and lasts until 8pm. Refreshments follow.
Visitors' Center Directors Elder & Sister Ward
Hailing from Midway, Utah, Brent and Esther Jane Ward call Oakland their home as they continue their mission as Visitors' Center directors. They've got an interesting background. Elder Ward was born in San Francisco, and we welcome him home! His impressive legal career was spent as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice in Salt Lake City. He is also co-founder of a computer start-up. Sister Ward is a speech/language pathologist, and worked in the public schools. Together, they created a home of harmony, with Elder Ward an accomplished pianist, and Sister Ward an exquisite violinist. They are parents of 7 children and 17 grandchildren.
We welcome them to Oakland and are excited to see the wonderful series of events they'll be offering at the VC. Come by and say hello to them personally, and wander through the tours at your own, comfortable pace. Enjoy the peace and reverence of Temple Hill.
